A great question to ask yourself in any social or professional situation is, Am I Safe to Be Me? Today’s podcast highlights two of Karen’s clients’ stories that illustrate what good examples of safety looks like and what we understand threatens our sense of safety.
People who are looking to live more authentic lives ask themselves this question in order to make good choices for healthy relationships and a healthy career. For those who avoid this question or who don’t feel entitled to this right, we can begin to understand why there is a constant feeling of fatigue and/or hopelessness that weighs on us day-to-today.
The first client story is about a woman whose husband taught her this great lesson and even though he’s passed, he continues to ask her and help her reflect. The second story is about a woman who has lost everyone she loves and the ways this changes us as individuals. While the two may look like they have nothing in common on the surface, safety to be oneself is the common denominator.
